Fucking Denver
Well, the weight has gone the wrong direction since the beginning of summer. Technically even before that. I was at 200.8 when I got on the plane go out to Denver for work in the middle of May and I'm 217.2 as of this morning. A similiar thing happened last year. I was 214 (after a summer of cycling) when I went out to Denver in October and I was at 230 at the beginning of the year. I don't know what it is about that god damn place, but it just seems to kill my motivation. It must be having to get up and actually go into the office and interact with people. :D

Whatever the actual reason, I am finally feeling like I need to start doing something about it again. I still haven't decided exactly what I'm going to do though. I have had no motivation to get on the bike lately, but I do plan on doing some riding before the weather changes. I think my first two steps are going to be adding the Gazelle back into the afternoon routine and tracking my weight on the boards.

I'll have some type of plan in place by the end of the week, but my intermediate goal is to get down to 210 by my birthday. That is a two pound a week goal, which should be doable.

After getting down to 190, I have bumped up to about 195-196 and held steady. I am trying to get to more Karate/exercise and get back to more disipline on the nutrisystem (I guess the fact that I have strayed and not piled on weight is good, just I want to be down further.)

After dealing with medical-enforced idleness for weeks (which knocking me out of rhythm and killed momentum), and two weeks of vacation, I was pleased to only be at 280. I figure if I can get back on the horse, I should be able to drop it to 270 by the end of the year.

Signed up for basketball 1/week starting 9/4 so that should help. Been walking/biking with Vickie pretty regularly, but not burning that many calories. Eating has been a mixed-bag.

I'm not feeling any momentum yet, but I also acknowledge that I need to recommit myself.

Fucking Denver!

How was the first night of b-ball? Can you walk today?

walk? jeezuz it hurt to sleep last night. ;)

I'm getting around okay with my little friend, Ibuprofin. Played two hours and they don't rest around between games much (walk to drinking fountain, walk back, once everyone is back you go). My arms were leaden by the end, but it was a good workout and I didn't completely suck.

Glad I went and saw guys I met in January again so they seem like familiar acquaintences now instead of strangers.

That was out my ride with the bike club was last week. I'm hoping tonight is a little better.

Sounds like you had fun though, which is the most important thing.

Better living through chemicals :D

My arms are smoked, had an all arm/shoulder workout this morning...where did I leave those pills? Painting is going to suck this evening!

I'm surprised at how weak my arms are (well, not surprised, but annoyed). Vickie and I will work on a home project that invariably requires me to stand on a ladder and hold about 10 pound object 'in place' in the air to the side or above my head, for long enough that my arms really ache.

Guess I should work out in some fashion or another. Mike has been pretty faithful at the gym over the summer and he's "got some guns" now. :)

A couple of nice weight routines at the gym might help out. A nice mix of muscle groups in a couple different workouts would be a good compliment to your running/jogging. Higher reps/lower weights (lower, not low) will build strength vs high weight/low rep which builds bulk.

BTW, I hate working overhead, never comfortable. :D

I have really gotten away from the lifting since my trainer moved back in March or April. I want to get back into it at least a bit, either with the machines or dumbbells at the gym.

Well, I was about to post that the ride was better tonight. However, then my right quad started cramping. :? Still I do feel a lot better than I did last week.
